A partner/support person is welcome to stay with you for the duration of your stay.
Daily wellness checks are done for both mum and partner/support person as part of your care plan.
4 well visitors a day are welcome to visit you between 3pm and 6pm.
We have all just experienced life under lockdown for COVID-19. During this period when we were unable to have visitors and the partners were locked down with the women, we learnt a lot of things.
We learnt that women who get more rest and are not under pressure to receive visitors when they have just given birth, recover quicker. It seemed that mothers were more relaxed therefore breastfeeding problems were less frequent, babies fed more, and the women went home with a more established milk supply.
We want to take some of what we learnt and encourage you to limit your visitors during your stay with us so that you can go home well bonded with your baby, well rested and with breastfeeding getting established. We can’t measure the ongoing benefits that this will have for your health and that of your baby, but we really believe that it will have benefits for you. Let us know when you are staying if you want us to restrict all your visitors, but the best way is for you to tell your friends and family before you birth.
