Nicky SneddenI am a NZ Registered Nurse; then trained in Scotland as a midwife, qualifying in 1992. I have three boys, two of whom were born at home. Since 1999 I have been working with Rodney Coast Midwives, providing all aspects of midwifery care. I believe midwifery is a partnership, where women and their partners are offered sound information so that they can make informed choices about their care. I am actively involved in a church and several community groups. I enjoy my family, organic gardening and handcrafts.

Melanie BrownleeCongratulations on your pregnancy! I am a Registered Nurse and LMC Midwife. I am passionate about women’s health, particularly in pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. It is a joy to share in the journey with women and partners as their families grow. Providing individualised care, unique to each woman is important in ensuring an enjoyable transition to becoming a mother. We have an admired maternity system in New Zealand where midwives like myself are highly skilled practitioners specialising in the normal while also recognising and referring to obstetric care if needed. I live in Mahurangi West with my family on a small block of land with an assortment of animals. I love spending time in the garden.

Wendy SigvertsenAs a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) since 1998 I have had the privilege of meeting hundreds of lovely families across Auckland. During my midwifery career I have worked as a Clinical Manager in a Tertiary hospital and a Primary Birth Centre so where ever you are planning to have your baby I will work with you to plan a natural active birth. My special interest is working with women who are planning to birth at our Warkworth Birthing Centre, Wellsford birth unit or at home as my preference is to book women who are committed to the normal birth pathway. I am well versed in recognising when a woman's journey moves away from normal and will refer as appropriate to the North Shore or Whangarei Hospital Obstetric Team. The group of midwives I work with provide support for each other and are like-minded in their practice. My caseload is small, antenatal visits are at the Wellsford and Warkworth clinics and postnatal visits will be in your home.
